Among the books by my favorite British author, Alain de Botton, here are the ones I personally enjoy most: 💛 Modern people often feel anxious about "social class": all that hard work, all that studying — what is it really for? A place in society, a respected title, a certificate? But is it really worth this much anxiety and stress?

💙 In modern life, news is gradually replacing the role religion played in earlier times. So what is news, really? How is it reported and spread, and how should we — as the audience — receive, understand, and interpret it?

❤️ Anyone who loves to travel has experienced moving through different airports — eating, shopping, resting. I personally adore airports, so when I came across this book in a bookstore years ago, I randomly opened to two or three pages and decided to buy it on the spot — which is also how I became a fan of this author. With international travel almost halted by COVID, I'd recommend this book to everyone. Whatever our future relationship with airports turns out to be, the human moments depicted in this slim book — written at the invitation of London Heathrow Airport — won't change: the human emotions, family bonds, the excitement of friends traveling together, the feelings of returning home after a journey.
